This module of the MITCalc design package helps with design calculations related to loaded flat plates.
This module calculates the deflection, stress and variation of forces in the loaded flat plates. The loaded plates need to be flat, homogeneous, with the same thickness and made from one material. The shape could be circular, annular circular and rectangular. The load distribution could be evenly distributed, uneven, over the whole surface or parts of it or may be loaded by the force distributed on the circle. It is compatible with several CAD packages and can have data imported/exported from them. These include AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, IntelliCAD, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Pro/Engineer, etc. as well as 3D packages. Calculation and display of graphs related to calculation of deflection, slope, moment and stress in a random point and selection of plates are available. You could select various types of loading and the plates to be used.
Calculation of safety coefficient, minimum plate thickness or maximum loading, are possible. Well known engineering calculations and related data, procedures, algorithms and information from professional literature are used. MITCalc offers a set of engineering, industrial, and technical calculations. MITCalc contains both design and check calculations related spur gear, bevel gear, worm gear, planetary gearing, timing belt, v-belt and chain drives, bearings, springs, beam, buckling, plates, shaft, bolt connection, shaft connection, force couplings of shafts, pins, tolerances, tolerance analysis, welded connection, technical formulas and many others. This has a simple and easy to use interface. It is intuitive enough that most users should get familiar with it quite easily. Getting productive with it should not take much time.
